Therapy for Healers & Seekers | Poughkeepsie and nearby areas, NY

This is the space where your spiritual path, your emotional truth, and your physical body finally meet.

Welcome to therapy that doesn’t make you split yourself apart.

This space was made for you if…

  • You’ve tried different healing tools, talk therapy, journaling, breathing practices, but your body still feels guarded, and something inside you isn’t quite landing.

  • You feel cut off from your body’s wisdom. It’s hard to know what you need, or what safety even feels like anymore.

  • You intellectually might know your trauma, but you can’t feel the shift you’ve been craving in your body, your breath, your life.

  • You’re tired of managing symptoms and want to explore the deeper patterns, how your body learned to protect you, and how it might begin to trust it again.

  • You’re done performing wellness. You want to feel regulated, real, and rooted, not just talk about it.

  • You’ve outgrown surface-level therapy. You want someone who understands how your nervous system, your history, and your present are all speaking through your body.

It’s not your fault that your body still feels like it’s bracing, even after years of healing work. When your nervous system has learned to survive by disconnecting, no amount of mindset hacks will bring you back home.

Here’s the truth: You’re navigating a system that’s trained you to separate your body from your spirit, your pain from your power.

You don’t have to keep fragmenting yourself to survive. There’s another way, and it welcomes all of you.

What if you could go from:

Feeling like a walking to-do list with a heartbeat to waking up with a sense of rhythm, purpose, and actual breath in your body'

Spiraling in your head trying to “figure it all out” to listening to the deep yes/no signals that already live in your bones?

Dimming your intuition to stay digestible to fully claiming your sacred sensitivity as the source of your power?

Going through the motions of healing to experiencing moments that feel like ritual, resonance, and actual relief?

This work isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering who you were before you had to split off to survive.

That’s what Somatic Psychotherapy makes possible:

A space where you can shed old patterns, hear your body’s wisdom, and reclaim the parts of you that still feel exiled, from the spiritual to the somatic, from the mystical to the deeply human. This is body-based healing that speaks the language of your nervous system and your soul.

Here’s what our work might look like:

We meet weekly in sacred space.

In each session, we work somatically and intuitively, welcoming whatever arises: grief, rage, numbness, memory, insight. This is where nervous system science meets spiritual presence. No part of you is too much. No part is left out.

We begin by opening the field.

Together, we drop in, slowly, intentionally, tracking sensation, emotion, and the symbolic language of your body. We name what’s been exiled, what’s been performing, and what’s quietly asking to be witnessed.

We build trust in your own rhythm.

Over time, your body becomes a place you can live in again. Your truth gets louder. You make choices from wholeness, not fear. Healing becomes something you feel, not just understand.

Hi, I’m Cristina Maria Fort Garcés,

Clinically trained, mystically rooted, and deeply human.

I’ve spent nearly two decades supporting therapists, healers, and space-holders, especially women and queer folks, through burnout, identity unraveling, and sacred thresholds.

I do this work because I’ve lived the disconnect: holding it all together on the outside while quietly falling apart within.

Now, I help others return, not to coping, but to wholeness. I’m with you and I'm here to help you be with you.

You don’t have to keep guessing your way through the dark.

If you’re ready for therapy that feels like a homecoming, grounded, sacred, and real, let’s begin. Book your session and step into the work your soul’s been asking for.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does virtual therapy work?

We meet weekly for 45-minute sessions via a secure, HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform. All you need is a quiet, private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone. You'll receive a recurring link that you can use for each session.

Because this is deep, relational work, consistency matters. Weekly sessions help build the trust, safety, and momentum needed for meaningful transformation. For that reason, I require a weekly commitment from all clients. This structure supports the depth-oriented, integrative process I offer—and ensures you get the most out of our time together.

  • What kind of therapy do you offer?

I offer somatic psychotherapy through a spiritual lens. That means we work with your nervous system and your spirit. Sessions may include body-based awareness, parts work, energy attunement, and sacred reflection, always guided by your consent and pacing.

  • Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, if your plan includes out-of-network benefits, I can provide a monthly superbill that you can submit for potential reimbursement—many clients receive up to 70% back, depending on their plan.

That said, I recommend self-pay when possible, as working with insurance can compromise your confidentiality and treatment flexibility. Insurance companies often require a formal diagnosis, access to highly personal records, and may limit the number or type of sessions allowed. Instead of spending time navigating insurance systems, I choose to focus fully on providing the most effective, spacious therapy experience possible.

If you’d like to explore using your benefits, please contact your insurance company and ask:

Do I have out-of-network coverage for 45-minute psychotherapy sessions?

What is my deductible, and has it been met?

How many sessions per year are covered?

What is the reimbursement rate per session?

If you're eligible, you’ll pay Creative Now Therapy directly at each session, and I’ll provide all the documentation you need to file a claim. I’m happy to support you through that process.

  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?

I require 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less notice will be charged the full session fee.

Each calendar year, you may cancel up to four sessions with at least 48 hours’ notice without penalty. After those four, any additional cancellations—even with proper notice—will also be charged.

These boundaries are in place to protect the continuity of our work and the weekly time I reserve just for you. If I need to cancel for any reason, you will not be charged, and I’ll always give as much advance notice as possible.

If you can’t attend your session, you’re welcome to request a reschedule. If no mutual time is found, the original fee still applies.

  • How often should I come to therapy?

I ask that clients attend weekly sessions, especially when we’re beginning our work together. Consistency creates safety, trust, and momentum. Weekly sessions allow us space and pace to do the deep work.

  • What if I’m not sure this is the right fit?

That’s totally okay. I offer a 15 minute free consultation so we can get a sense of each other and see if the connection feels aligned. You don’t need to know everything right away, just come as you are.

  • What are your fees?

My fee is $250 for 45-minute psychotherapy sessions. I offer sliding scale on a case by case basis, when I have sliding scale specific openings.

I also offer bundles of ten (10) weekly sessions for $2,100. That’s a $400 savings.

The initial consultation call is always free and lasts about 15-20 minutes. That’s where we’ll discover if we’re a good fit to work together.

  • With whom do you work… and where?

I offer 45-minute weekly online psychotherapy to women, femmes, queer, Latinx, gender-non-conforming, and trans adults in New York State, 21 years old and above.

I have 17 years of experience working with folks struggling with: depression, anxiety, trauma, toxic shame, negative-self talk, life transitions, burnout, and identity exploration.

I am trained and specialized in Somatic, Gestalt, & Creative Arts psychotherapy. Please visit my bio page for specifics on my experience here: www.creativenowtherapy.com/

I also offer supervision online to new therapists looking for somatic, Gestalt, and creative arts guidance or help starting their private practices anywhere in the world.

What Clients Say…

Cris is immensely talented and skilled in somatic and mindfulness approaches. She cares deeply about her clients and makes them feel seen and heard. Cris’s style is unique because it blends somatic with psychodynamic and spiritual practices.

- Krisja

I had such a great experience working with Cris. I had only ever done therapy that was mostly focused on the cognitive side of things, so tapping into my body to connect with my past and better make sense of my feelings and experiences was an entirely new thing for me. I was skeptical at the idea at first, but Cris is a true master of her craft, making me feel right at ease from our very first session, and giving me a true appreciation of the somatic practice. I highly recommend Creative Now Therapy.

- JL

I can’t recommend Creative Now Therapy enough. Cristina is not only warm and friendly but also dynamic and deeply engaging, making each session feel both comforting and transformative. When I first started, I was struggling with mid-life depression and anxiety. I felt stuck, directionless, and weighed down by unresolved issues from my past. Cristina’s somatic approach and incredible insight helped me unpack and truly understand myself in the here and now. With her guidance, I was able to make peace with my past, find clarity in the present, and take meaningful steps toward a brighter future. If you’re navigating life transitions, dealing with depression, or just feeling lost, Cristina’s compassionate yet effective approach can truly make a difference.
