What is Brief-Psychotherapy?


Brief-psychotherapy, also known as short-term psychotherapy, is a form of psychological treatment that focuses on addressing specific issues, symptoms, or goals within a limited time frame. Unlike long-term or traditional psychotherapy, which may extend over several months or years, short-term psychotherapy is typically designed to produce relatively quick and targeted results by honing in on a specific concern or goal.

How Does Creative Now Therapy approach Brief-Psychotherapy?


The essential structure is the same as above but includes specific creative and somatic interventions alongside talk therapy. We do this to enhance your understanding and progress on your specified goal. We believe that the creative process can help move you out of patterns and dissatisfying behaviors that get in the way of progress. And do not worry, we will collaborate together to determine what kind of creative interventions work for you. There are infinite ways to engage your treatment through the creative process. You never have to engage in any art making experience that does not fit you or takes you out of your comfort zone.

Our Short-Term Creative Psychotherapy Process:


1) The short-term treatment lasts for 12 sessions over 12 weeks or we can find a flow that is right for you (the first 2 sessions are for information gathering and planning).

2) The first session is a 45 minute intake to get information about you and your current situation and to collaboratively define a clear goal and objective that can be addressed within 10 sessions.

3) Your therapist then designs your treatment plan and presents it to you during your second session. Here you will collaborate together make changes or additions to this plan.

4) The following 10 sessions are the actual treatment sessions with your last session dedicated to reviewing your experience, progress, and important takeaways.

  • We start with a free 15-20 minute phone consultation call to determine if we might be a fit.
  • Sessions are 45 minutes in length, held weekly or biweekly, and offered remotely via our secure telehealth platform.
  • Our session rate's range from $125-$200 depending on the clinician's sliding scale availablity and your financial situation.
  • We use HIPPA-compliant software that ensures your privacy.
  • Traditional talk psychotherapy, Gestalt psychotherapy, Art therapy, and Somatic interventions are all offered and uniquely combined to suit you or your needs.
  • Venmo or PayPal are accepted. You can add your credit card to either of these services if you need to pay that way.
