The Problem
When Your Body Stops Letting You Push Through
You've been healing in fragments and running on output for so long you've forgotten it's a choice.
There's always someone who needs something. A deadline that can't wait. A need you'll get to later. A version of rest you have to earn before you're allowed to take it.
Your body learned this early, that doing was safe, that stillness was dangerous, that being useful was how you stayed loved. So it kept going. And going. And going.
Meanwhile you get home, close the door, and can't exhale. You sit down to rest and your mind immediately generates a list. Someone asks what you need and your mind goes completely blank.
You have the tools. The card pulls, the breath work, the moon rituals. And they help, for a moment. But the insight never makes it past your mind.
The clarity from the reading doesn't show up in the boundary you still haven't set. The breakthrough from the ceremony doesn't land, because your body is bracing against the other shoe dropping.
That is keeping you on the hamster wheel. Not a lack of self-awareness. Not a lack of trying. Your nervous system is waiting for permission to stop.
This is that room.

The Transformation
What if the patterns started to loosen their grip?
It starts small. You close the door after work and something in you actually releases. Not because you added a better morning routine, but because your body finally got the memo that you're allowed to rest.
Someone asks what you need. And this time, you don't go blank. You actually know. Your voice doesn't shake. And you don't apologize after. And then the part of you that went quiet starts getting louder.
The astrology app stops getting checked seventeen times a day. Not because you lost interest, because you stopped needing it to tell you who you are. You sit in a hard conversation without your throat closing off the words. You cry in a session and you stay, you don't leave your body to go somewhere safer.
Rest stops being something you earn. It becomes something you simply take.
You stop living above your neck and start landing in the moment, in the choice, and in the room you're in with the people you care about.
Your body was never the problem. It was just waiting to be part of the healing.
There can be a different way of being in your body.
So, what if this could change? And you could go from:
From a harsh inner voice that tears you down daily → to an inner world that treats you with compassion, honesty, and respect.
Your self-talk softens. Your body stops flinching at every mistake. You begin relating to yourself the way you’ve always deserved: with presence, dignity, and care.
From holding it together on the outside while falling apart inside → to actually feeling regulated, present, and at home in your body again.
Instead of bracing your way through the day, you start noticing real steadiness: fewer shutdowns, fewer spirals, more moments where you can breathe and stay connected.
From nights of buzzing anxiety and bone-deep exhaustion → to a nervous system that finally lets you rest.
Your body learns how to settle, your mind stops spinning, and sleep becomes something your system can receive, not fight.
From shrinking, overgiving, and abandoning yourself to keep the peace → to expressing what you need and holding boundaries without collapsing.
You stop disappearing in your own life. You take up space, calmly, clearly, confidently, in your relationships and in yourself.
From not knowing who you’re becoming and feeling terrified of the unknown → to sensing a clear inner direction that comes from your body, not pressure or fear.
Your identity starts to feel like something you inhabit, not something you perform. The next version of you begins to take shape from the inside out.
That is what Spiritually-Oriented Somatic Psychotherapy makes possible:
This is psychotherapy, real, licensed, clinical, that also speaks the language of spirit you've been thinking in your whole life.
No more choosing between the therapy room and the tarot deck.
No more
leaving half of yourself at the door.
This is where all of it gets to be in the room at once.

My method
How Insight Becomes Real Change.
Most therapy stays above the neck. Most spiritual work stays out of the body. This is neither.
We start where you actually are.
Your history and your goals matter. And so does the
breath you just held, the tension that showed up when you walked in. We work with what your body is doing in the now, because
that's where the pattern lives.
We let the symbolic world in.
Tarot, astrology, imagery, ritual: these aren't add-ons. They're how you already think. We use them to access what conversation alone can't always reach.
We unwind without force.
The places you
brace, over-give, go quiet, go blank, we don't push through them. We get curious about them. Slowly, they stop running the show.
We let it land in your life.
The insight you've carried for years starts to feel usable.
Not just understood, embodied. Showing up in how
you speak, rest, and decide.
This work isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about remembering who you were before you had to split off to survive.

What to Expect
How We Work Together:
This is one-on-one psychotherapy, led by what emerges. Sessions are weekly, relational, and responsive, built around what your body and nervous system are ready for, not a fixed script.
Your spiritual life is explicitly welcome here. Not tolerated: included. The tarot deck, the astrology chart, the imagery and ritual you've been working with, they don't stay at the door. They come in with you.
We might follow a body sensation into something that shifts it, work with ritual, creative experiments, or bring in nature and animal guides when they open something words can't.
Some clients arrive with practices already in place. Some are curious but haven't trusted it yet. Some have never had a therapist take that part of them seriously. All of that is welcome here.
You're always part of deciding what we use. Nothing is done without your agreement. Nothing is assumed about you.
Licensed therapy with Woo that is not just welcome, its
expected.
About Your guide
Hi, I’m Cristina Maria Fort Garcés - she/they
Clinically trained. Mystically rooted. Deeply human.
I know what it's like to keep achieving, keep giving, keep going, and have no idea your body stopped coming with you.
I’ve spent nearly 20 years working with sensitive, attuned women and queer folks who appear OK on the outside while feeling messy on the inside. I create a space where your nervous system, your lived experience, and your spiritual curiosity are all welcome.
My work is shaped by years of exploring burnout, identity shifts, and the thresholds of change. We move at a pace your body can integrate, staying with the present, while allowing intuition and meaning to emerge.
I do this work because I know, personally and professionally, what it’s like to keep functioning while something deeper asks for attention. I’ve learned how healing begins when we stop abandoning ourselves just to survive.
Now, I help others make that same return,
not back to the performance of “being okay,” but toward
a grounded and compassionate relationship with themselves.

You don’t have to keep guessing your way through the dark.
If you’re ready for therapy that feels like a homecoming, grounded, sacred, and real, let’s begin. Book your session and step into the work your soul’s been asking for.
Fees
$225 per 45-minute virtual session
Sessions are held weekly and offered online as a private-pay practice, allowing the work to stay focused on what you need and unfold over time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is somatic psychotherapy — how is it different from traditional talk therapy?
Somatic psychotherapy works with your body, nervous system, and lived experience, not just thoughts or emotions. At Creative Now Therapy & Beyond in Kingston, NY (and online throughout New York State), we integrate nervous-system-oriented methods, embodiment practices, and spiritual depth to support real healing. Instead of staying in your head, you’ll learn to tune into your body, track internal cues, and gradually move from survival into presence.
How long does this work take – how many sessions might I need?
Therapy with me is often a long-term relationship, many of my clients work with me for years. That said, short-term therapy can still be deeply impactful, and I honor all timelines. Some people come with specific goals and leave once those are met. Others see therapy as a lifelong space for support, integration, and growth. We’ll check in about what feels right for you.
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, if your plan includes out-of-network benefits, I can provide a monthly superbill that you can submit for potential reimbursement—many clients receive up to 70% back, depending on their plan.
That said, I recommend self-pay when possible, as working with insurance can compromise your confidentiality and treatment flexibility. Insurance companies often require a formal diagnosis, access to highly personal records, and may limit the number or type of sessions allowed. Instead of spending time navigating insurance systems, I choose to focus fully on providing the most effective, spacious therapy experience possible.
If you’d like to explore using your benefits, please contact your insurance company and ask:
Do I have out-of-network coverage for 45-minute psychotherapy sessions?
What is my deductible, and has it been met?
How many sessions per year are covered?
What is the reimbursement rate per session?
If you're eligible, you’ll pay Creative Now Therapy directly at each session, and I’ll provide all the documentation you need to file a claim. I’m happy to support you through that process.
How often should I come to therapy?
I ask that clients attend weekly sessions, especially when we’re beginning our work together. Because this is deep, relational work, consistency matters. Weekly sessions help build the trust, safety, and momentum needed for meaningful transformation. For that reason, I require a weekly commitment from all clients. This structure supports the depth-oriented, integrative process I offer, and ensures you get the most out of our time together.
I’m not sure I’m “spiritual enough” (or I don’t fully understand somatic work)—is this still for me?
Yes, if you’re curious and willing to try. You don’t need to be fully embodied or spiritually fluent to begin. Beginners are especially welcome. However, you do need to be open to exploring your own spiritual practice or sense of inner connection. If you feel totally disconnected from your body or uninterested in integrating spiritual aspects of healing, this may not be the right fit.
How do I get started?
After you fill out my form (which you can find HERE or by clicking the orange 'Get Started' button on the upper right corner of my website), you can select a time to have a free 15-minute consultation call with me. During this call ou’ll get a feel for the our connection, ask questions, and sense if this container meets you where you are. From there, we’ll discuss next steps for entering the work.
