Somatic Psychotherapy for Healers & Seekers | Kingston, NY
Spiritually Oriented Somatic Psychotherapy
Therapy that blends body-based healing with spiritual tools like tarot, astrology, and archetypal imagery.
You're functioning but not whole.
This space was made for you if you find yourself noticing…
“I look fine to the world but inside i'm a mess, and i'm tired of being split"
- You’re holding it together at work and with your partner, but you're having more headaches, gut issues, irritability, or shutdowns that you can’t ignore. You’re terrified you’re going to drop a ball that actually matters.
“My body won’t let me rest, even when I’m exhausted.”
- You’re wired at night, waking anxious, or lying in bed with a spinning mind while your chest tightens. You’re tired to your bones, but your system never settles.
“I can’t stay present. I keep checking out, zoning out, or disappearing.”
- You lose time in conversations, drift during meetings, or feel like you’re watching your life instead of living it. People notice you’re “not there,” and it’s impacting connection and work.
“I feel like I’m shedding a life that doesn’t fit, but I have no idea who I’m becoming.”
- The certainty you once relied on is gone. Old identities are slipping. The new ones haven’t formed yet. You’re scared of disappointing people, scared of blowing up your life, and scared of staying stuck exactly where you are.
“I talk to myself like I hate myself… and I’m tired of it.”
- You don’t want to live this way anymore, constantly attacking yourself, feeling your stomach drop with every self-blame spiral. You know it’s not who you are, but you can’t seem to stop.
“I abandon myself to keep others comfortable, and my body and soul is paying the price.”
- You override your limits, ignore the tightness in your chest, force yourself through exhaustion, and pretend you’re fine. Inside, you’re collapsing. Outside, you’re still performing.
Why this keeps happening (and why it's not your fault).
Your body learned survival before it learned safety. Patterns like
bracing,
disconnecting, or
over-responsibility don’t resolve through insight alone.
This isn’t a personal failure. It’s a nervous system doing what it was shaped to do.
Spiritually oriented somatic psychotherapy works at the level where these patterns live: in the body
and the field of meaning around it, supporting regulation, presence, and the felt sense of choice and direction.

There can be a different way of being in your body.
So, what if this could change? And you could go from:
From a harsh inner voice that tears you down daily → to an inner world that treats you with compassion, honesty, and respect.
Your self-talk softens. Your body stops flinching at every mistake. You begin relating to yourself the way you’ve always deserved: with presence, dignity, and care.
From holding it together on the outside while falling apart inside → to actually feeling regulated, present, and at home in your body again.
Instead of bracing your way through the day, you start noticing real steadiness: fewer shutdowns, fewer spirals, more moments where you can breathe and stay connected.
From nights of buzzing anxiety and bone-deep exhaustion → to a nervous system that finally lets you rest.
Your body learns how to settle, your mind stops spinning, and sleep becomes something your system can receive, not fight.
From shrinking, overgiving, and abandoning yourself to keep the peace → to expressing what you need and holding boundaries without collapsing.
You stop disappearing in your own life. You take up space, calmly, clearly, confidently, in your relationships and in yourself.
From not knowing who you’re becoming and feeling terrified of the unknown → to sensing a clear inner direction that comes from your body, not pressure or fear.
Your identity starts to feel like something you inhabit, not something you perform. The next version of you begins to take shape from the inside out.
This work isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about remembering who you were before you had to split off to survive.
That is what Spiritually Oriented Somatic Psychotherapy makes possible:
Somatic psychotherapy with spiritual integration helps unwind survival patterns and restore connection to your body, intuition, and inner knowing.
This is body-based psychotherapy that works with the nervous system and makes space for meaning.

A Grounded Path to Work With Both the Body and the Sacred:
This work is
experiential, body-based, and spiritually oriented.
We don’t just talk about insight. We work with
sensation, intuition, imagery, and meaning so change becomes something you feel, not just understand.
We Start With What’s Happening Now
We begin with what’s present in real time, your breath, posture, nervous system, and the sensations or images that arise as you speak. This is where your
body and intuition are already communicating, offering spiritual information through felt experience rather than belief.
- So what? So you stop living split,
holding it together on the outside while bracing inside, and begin feeling present, grounded, and safe enough to
inhabit your body again.
We Listen to the Body, and the Symbolic World It Speaks Through
We track sensation, emotion, and meaning as they unfold, noticing where you brace or overperform. Alongside somatic work, we welcome
symbolic and spiritual tools such as imagery, intuitive impressions, archetypal themes, tarot, or astrology as ways your system makes meaning.
- So what?
So your inner world becomes
coherent instead of chaotic, and insight turns into embodied guidance you can use for
decisions, boundaries, and direction.
We Unwind Old Survival Patterns With Care
Your body holds the patterns that once helped you survive, shrinking, overgiving, self-attack, and hypervigilance. We meet these parts with presence and reverence, allowing them to soften without forcing change or bypassing pain.
- So what? So the inner critic loosens, shame stops leading, and you begin relating to yourself with compassion, dignity, and self-respect you can actually feel.
We Let the Work Change How You Live
We track how shifts show up in daily life, sleep, rest, relationships, creativity, and how you move through uncertainty. Your spirituality becomes lived and embodied, grounded in nervous system safety rather than aspiration.
- So what? So healing becomes real, your body, intuition, and actions move in the same direction, and your sense of who you’re becoming feels clearer, steadier, and rooted over time.
Hi, I’m Cristina Maria Fort Garcés,
Clinically trained, mystically rooted, and deeply human.
I offer spiritually oriented somatic psychotherapy, a grounded approach that honors the body, emotions, and the deeper layers of meaning and intuition that shape us.
I’ve spent nearly two decades working with sensitive, attuned women and queer folks who appear OK on the outside while feeling messy on the inside. I create a space where your nervous system, your lived experience, and your spiritual curiosity are all welcome.
My work is shaped by years of exploring burnout, identity shifts, and the thresholds of change. We move at a pace your body can integrate, staying with the present, while allowing intuition and meaning to emerge.
I do this work because I know, personally and professionally, what it’s like to keep functioning while something deeper asks for attention. I’ve learned how healing begins when we stop abandoning ourselves just to survive.
Now, I help others make that same return,
not back to the performance of “being okay,” but toward a grounded and compassionate relationship with themselves.

You don’t have to keep guessing your way through the dark.
If you’re ready for therapy that feels like a homecoming, grounded, sacred, and real, let’s begin. Book your session and step into the work your soul’s been asking for.

How We Work Together:
This is one-on-one somatic psychotherapy, led by what emerges. I don’t work from a fixed script: sessions are responsive, relational, and designed in service of what your body and nervous system are ready for.
What that means in practice:
- Sessions are held weekly to support consistent, embodied change
- Present-moment, body-based therapy. We work with what’s happening now, not just insight or story (but those are important too).
- Spirituality is explicitly welcome. Intuition, symbolism, and non-ordinary ways of making meaning are part of the work.
You don’t need to have a spiritual practice already - in fact I welcome the discovery of one. Some clients are deeply intuitive but unsure how to trust it. Others are curious but shy. Some already work with tarot, astrology, or ritual and have never had those parts taken seriously in therapy. All of that is welcome here.
Tools We Work With:
- Nature-based elements, your guides (animal or otherwise), and creative experiments when they’re helpful.
- Astrological reflection (using your birth date, time, and location), introduced gradually once I understand your story.
- Tarot or oracle cards, used as visual tools to explore intuition, imagery, and meaning
You’re always part of deciding what we use.
Nothing is done without your agreement, and nothing is “read” or assumed about you.
This is psychotherapy,
not coaching or spiritual advising, with room for symbolic and spiritual language.
Fees
$225 per 45-minute virtual session
Sessions are held weekly and offered online as a private-pay practice, allowing the work to stay focused on what you need and unfold over time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is somatic psychotherapy — how is it different from traditional talk therapy?
Somatic psychotherapy works with your body, nervous system, and lived experience, not just thoughts or emotions. At Creative Now Therapy & Beyond in Kingston, NY (and online throughout New York State), we integrate nervous-system-oriented methods, embodiment practices, and spiritual depth to support real healing. Instead of staying in your head, you’ll learn to tune into your body, track internal cues, and gradually move from survival into presence.
How long does this work take – how many sessions might I need?
Therapy with me is often a long-term relationship, many of my clients work with me for years. That said, short-term therapy can still be deeply impactful, and I honor all timelines. Some people come with specific goals and leave once those are met. Others see therapy as a lifelong space for support, integration, and growth. We’ll check in about what feels right for you.
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, if your plan includes out-of-network benefits, I can provide a monthly superbill that you can submit for potential reimbursement—many clients receive up to 70% back, depending on their plan.
That said, I recommend self-pay when possible, as working with insurance can compromise your confidentiality and treatment flexibility. Insurance companies often require a formal diagnosis, access to highly personal records, and may limit the number or type of sessions allowed. Instead of spending time navigating insurance systems, I choose to focus fully on providing the most effective, spacious therapy experience possible.
If you’d like to explore using your benefits, please contact your insurance company and ask:
Do I have out-of-network coverage for 45-minute psychotherapy sessions?
What is my deductible, and has it been met?
How many sessions per year are covered?
What is the reimbursement rate per session?
If you're eligible, you’ll pay Creative Now Therapy directly at each session, and I’ll provide all the documentation you need to file a claim. I’m happy to support you through that process.
How often should I come to therapy?
I ask that clients attend weekly sessions, especially when we’re beginning our work together. Because this is deep, relational work, consistency matters. Weekly sessions help build the trust, safety, and momentum needed for meaningful transformation. For that reason, I require a weekly commitment from all clients. This structure supports the depth-oriented, integrative process I offer, and ensures you get the most out of our time together.
I’m not sure I’m “spiritual enough” (or I don’t fully understand somatic work)—is this still for me?
Yes, if you’re curious and willing to try. You don’t need to be fully embodied or spiritually fluent to begin. Beginners are especially welcome. However, you do need to be open to exploring your own spiritual practice or sense of inner connection. If you feel totally disconnected from your body or uninterested in integrating spiritual aspects of healing, this may not be the right fit.
How do I get started?
After you fill out my form (which you can find HERE or by clicking the orange 'Get Started' button on the upper right corner of my website), you can select a time to have a free 15-minute consultation call with me. During this call ou’ll get a feel for the our connection, ask questions, and sense if this container meets you where you are. From there, we’ll discuss next steps for entering the work.
