Spiritual Guidance for the Deep Feelers Who Have Outgrown Ordinary Healing

September 16, 2026

Most people who search for spiritual guidance are not looking for religion. They are not looking for a guru, a crystal prescription, or someone to decode their Saturn return. They are looking for a place where the parts of them that do not fit anywhere else are finally welcome.

You have probably already done some therapy, journaling, tried out some somatic practices. And still, something in you wants more than coping. We often want contact and witnessing without quite knowing it. That is often the moment you start looking for help that can meet what is changing in you.

In this post, we are going to reframe what spiritual guidance is, how to know when you are ready for it, what it looks like when body and soul are in the room together, and who this kind of work is truly for.

In case you are new here, I am Cristina Maria Fort Garcés, a somatic therapist and spiritual guide supporting deep-feeling humans, healers, and soul-seekers through the sacred threshold between who they were and who they are becoming.

If you want to understand the full shape of this work, feel free to check out my services somatic psychotherapy and energy coaching.

What is spiritual guidance?

Spiritual guidance is not about handing you answers from outside yourself. It is about helping you hear what you already know, underneath the noise. Sometimes that happens through the body. Sometimes it happens through a symbol or archetype. Sometimes it happens through a simple statement that cracks something open.

At its best, spiritual guidance creates conditions where your own knowing can come back online.

Why spiritual guidance gets confused with religion or life coaching

The confusion makes sense. For generations, spiritual support lived inside religious institutions. But a lot of people today are spiritually hungry and institutionally homeless. They want depth without dogma, reverence without a script.

Life coaching is its own big umbrella. Some coaching is purely future-focused and goal-oriented. Some coaching is more relational, intuitive, or spiritually informed. In that sense, spiritual guidance can live inside coaching, even if the two are not always the same thing.

The difference between spiritual guidance and traditional therapy

Therapy matters. Deeply. But traditional therapy often stays in symptom management, diagnosis, and behavior change. That can be useful, and still incomplete for people whose grief, sensitivity, and longing are carrying spiritual weight.

Spiritual guidance, as I practice it, is trauma-informed, body oriented, and soul-led. It does not ask you to choose between your nervous system and your mysticism. It treats the body as a source of knowing, and it treats symbols, like tarot cards, dreams, and astrological patterns, as things that can actually affect how you feel, choose, and move through the world.

Spiritual Guidance

Signs you might be ready for spiritual guidance

You may still be doing the practices that helped before. The journaling. The rituals. The quiet check-ins with yourself. And still, something in you is not moved by them anymore.

That is not failure. It usually means the work is asking for a different kind of support, one that pays attention to the body, the spirit, and the meaning of what is changing.

When your healing tools stop working

You are not broken because your old practices feel thin. They got you here. They may have opened the door, but they were never meant to be the whole house.

A tarot reading can give you insight. A meditation can give you a little peace. But if your nervous system is still bracing, the change will not last. That is usually when people start reaching for the next tool, the next ritual, the next answer. Not because they are doing healing wrong, but because they have not yet felt the part that needs to shift.

When you're in the in-between

The in-between can feel disorienting. Old roles stop fitting. New ones have not fully arrived. You know the life you have been living is too small, but you do not yet know how to step out of it.

That space is not a mistake. It is often the beginning of real transformation. What you need there is not urgency. You need steadiness, witness, and a way to stay with what is unfolding.

How somatic spiritual guidance works: body, soul, and nervous system together

My work does not separate body from spirit. The body is where the pattern lives, where the signal lives, and where the shift has to land. That means spiritual guidance can include somatic tracking, ritual, tarot, astrology, and ancestral awareness.

Tarot and astrology are not there to replace your body. They are there to help your body speak. Andean concepts and practices I use, like poq'po, hucha, mast'ay, and ayni can also help name what is happening without flattening it into pathology.

What a session looks like

Sessions are not scripted. We begin with what is most alive and follow that. Sometimes that is a sensation. Sometimes a card. Sometimes a story. Sometimes the thing you almost did not say.

From there, we work with what shows up in real time: tightness, grief, pressure, numbness, heat, clarity. The goal is not to explain your experience to death. It is to help you meet it differently.

The body is the entry point, not the endpoint

The body is where truth arrives first. Sometimes it arrives as a clenched jaw. Sometimes as a full-bellied no. Sometimes as the weird relief of finally saying the thing you have been swallowing for years.

If your system learned that being yourself was dangerous, no amount of pretty language will force safety. The body learns through contacting sensations, the experience of touching into the emotions, learning you can live through that. And we rinse and repeat until it feels safe enough for you to expand into more possibilities.

Who this work is for

This work is for the therapist who pulls tarot under the table. The creative who feels too much. The healer who can hold everyone else but feels lost in her own life.

It is for people who are spiritually alive and tired of having to translate themselves into something more acceptable. It is for the deep feelers who know there is more here than coping.

You don't have to explain yourself here

You have spent enough time making yourself smaller for rooms that were never built to hold your full life. You do not need to translate away your intuition, your grief, or your sense that the world is more alive than people say it is.

If you are looking for energy coaching, book a consultation today and take the first step back toward yourself.
